Our Girls Player of the Week for December 11th to December 17th is Litzy Lujan-Gonzales of Mount Vernon.
The Majors have had a nice start to the season, falling only to #10 Centreville by five points. Last week they got three wins over Marshall, TJ, and Falls Church, thanks in no small part to Lujan-Gonzales.
The senior guard averaged well over 20 points a game in those victories, really delivering in the Marshall game. The Majors rallied from 17 points down to force overtime and eventually win, as Lujan-Gonzales buried clutch shot after clutch shot.
She has unlimited range from beyond the arc, but is also adept at drawing contact and getting to the line. She is at times unstoppable.
