Our Boys Player of the Week for December 11th to December 17th is Matthew Lenert of Marshall.
Lots of guards score and Lenert certainly does that–the senior averaged 22 points per game in three Statesmen wins against Mount Vernon, Oakton, and McLean last week (including a career-high 31 points in one game). But Lenert, also a soccer standout, also plays some A1 defense. Last week he and his team held opponents to an average of 30 points per game.
Matthew is among the area leaders in steals in Northern Virginia–against Oakton he had six.
