Championship Friday Recap, Regional Tournament Preview

Chris Jollay and Julian Brown recap a crazy past week of upsets, and preview the Boys and Girls Regional Playoffs coming up this week. Just some nuts games, especially on the boys side last week: Independence’s upset of Gar-Field, Mount Vernon taking down Hayfield, Briar Woods taking out Riverbend, and so on.

Boys Topics: Is Westfield beatable? Somewhat unexpected teams like Briar Woods, Gainesville, Independence, and Loudoun County swinging for states. Julian says Tuscarora-Broad Run coming up is the Game of the Year so far. There was referee controversy at Potomac-Brooke Point, plus much more.

Girls Topics: Some good teams (West Potomac, Gainesville, Edison, Washington & Liberty) fall for the third time to some really good teams (South County, Osbourn Park, Hayfield, Langley). The crazy Concorde morphs into the loaded Northern Region Tournament. The parity in Loudoun should make for some fun games–can anyone fell Heritage. Plus, Stone Bridge is rising and Lightridge is resurgent.
