Our Player of the Week for January 30th through February 5th is James McIntyre of Washington-Liberty.
What a week for McIntyre and the Generals. On Tuesday McIntyre had 35 points and seven rebounds to spur Washington-Liberty past Wakefield. The next night the junior guard faced extra defensive attention in the form of a box-and-one, though McIntyre’s talented teammates picked up the slack to grab a 69-47 victory over Langley.
McIntyre also faced extra defensive attention in a return match versus Wakefield and a Saturday game with Marshall, but still delivered double-digit scoring and key three-pointers as the Generals finished the week 4-0. The Marshall victory on Saturday avenged the Generals’ only Liberty District loss on the season.
