Our Boys Player of the Week for the week of January 28th to February 3rd, 2024, is TJ Duggan of Tuscarora.
What has gotten into TJ Duggan lately? The senior guard has always been a good player, but he’s been a scoring juggernaut of late.
Last week Duggan followed up a 31-point performance versus Broad Run two weeks ago with a 35-point performance against Heritage. Duggan hit a school single-game record nine threes against the Pride to lead his team to victory, and then added 21 points in a win over Dominion later in the week.
Duggan shoots and scores first, but is also an underrated defender and good passer. Fairfax and Prince William County’s backcourt duos tend to get more press, but it’s hard to argue many public school backcourts, if any, exceed the talent level of Duggan and Jayden Johnson.
