Our Boys Player of the Week for January 23rd to January 29th is Tavarres Riley of Freedom-Woodbridge.
The dynamic sophomore guard had an impressive week, averaging 30.5 points per game in two contests. Most importantly, he had a huge game as Freedom beat Potomac for the first time since 2008. In that overtime contest Riley scored 37 points and dished out five assists. He also contributed five rebounds and five steals.
Freedom drew a tough assignment the very next night, Cardinal District-leading Woodbridge. The Eagles fell to the Vikings, but Riley was again impressive, delivering 24 points.
