Our Boy Player of the Week for the week of January 21st through 27th is Tey Barbour of Patriot.
You almost forget about Barbour, because he’s been so good for so long around here we tend to take it for granted. The Harvard signee is still getting it done, however, this year for state title contender and third-ranked Patriot.
Last week Barbour was instrumental in the three Pioneers’ big wins. He averaged over 23 points per game in victories over Forest Park, Battlefield, and Freedom-South Riding.
Barbour’s skills are well-documented on this site and elsewhere. What we really like is his ability to compete hard for four quarters. We’ve seen talented opponents match him offensively or limit him defensively, but can’t recall many, if any, who have been able to do so for the duration of an entire game. He’s just relentless.
