In a week of exceptional Player of the Week candidates, we went with junior guard Jonathan (JJ) Bell of Gar-Field.
Bell still has a long way to go in his high school career, but there’s little doubt he’ll remember December 16th, 2025 fondly. Bell poured in a career-high 36 points in a win at Potomac off 15-23 shooting from the field. Not only that, but Bell registered his 1,000th career point during the game.
Not only was Bell’s individual feat special, the team accomplishment was just as special. Gar-Field remains undefeated, and took over sole possession of first place in the Cardinal District, a position the Panthers have enjoyed for, well, most of the last couple of decades. Later in the week Bell also led his team in scoring in a win over Hylton.
Gar-Field is off to its best start on the season in over 10 years. Congrats to Bell and the Red Wolves!
