Stone Bridge’s Sam Whitehead is our boys Player of the Week for this, the first week of the 2021-2022 season.
We expect the 6’3″ junior to perhaps garner this honor again in the future, judging by the strides he’s made this offseason. Already a key rotation piece in the Bulldogs’ Class 5 state title run last year, it appears Whitehead has elevated his game to another level.
The wing is averaging 24 points per game so far this season, and he was crucial in three close wins for Stone Bridge last week. He had 29 points and 12 rebounds in one win over Rock Ridge, and also delivered the game-winner versus Heritage on the road.
A sweep for the Boys' program against Heritage on the road. In the 50-48 win, K. Limcaoco 11pts, O. Abushaban 10reb and S. Whitehead with 21pts and game winner in the final minute. Close one down to the end. Love the energy from the Lil' Dawgs on the far side of the court! #SBOE pic.twitter.com/mSnbc2KLV2 — SBHS Basketball (@sbhs_basketball) November 30, 2021
Congrats to Sam and the undefeated Bulldogs!
