Our Girls Player of the Week for December 15th to December 21st is May Marsh of Woodgrove.
Freshman Amaya Ramey was a breakout star in last year’s state final, and that overshadowed the solid performances of two other freshmen who played key roles in that historic win, Mya Bundick and May Marsh.
While Ramey transferred, those two are back and headline a still-strong Wolverine sophomore class that has stepped up this season. Marsh, a tall guard-forward who can rebound and hits numerous threes, was the leading scorer in two big Woodgrove wins last week.
First, she had 14 points in a 41-37 win in a defensive game versus Heritage. Then, versus rival Loudoun Valley Friday night, she exploded for 25 points as her team took the victory.
Congrats to May and the Wolverines!
