We’re covering the Commonwealth District for the first time this year, and right away noticed a strong candidate for all-district honors this season at the Gar-Field Tip-Off Tournament. That would be Cooper Konetschni of Mountain View.
The 6’4″ junior sharpshooter had 37 points Thursday night in a win over Christ Chapel, and after he and his team lost a tough one to host Gar-Field the next night, he scored 24 in a Saturday morning win over Unity Reed at Kyle Honore. Three tough games in 40 hours didn’t seem to phase Konetschni much.
With good size, shooting range and offensive feel, Konetschni figures to draw significant recruiting interest the next two years.
