Welcome from the staff of Novahoops.com! As you can see, this a newly-launched site. Our goal is to cover Northern Virginia basketball to the fullest extent possible, both private and public schools, girls and boys. We’re not looking to just cover just the big games between the best teams, either. We’re looking to cover it all, to include rivalry games between sub-.500 teams and interesting stories about athletes that may not be on college coaches’ radar. Basically we’d love to write a little bit about every team in the area at some point during the year, covering as many kids as we can.
Still, we are just starting out and have a small staff, so there will be bumps along the way. We won’t be able to cover everything as well as we’d like initially. And although some of us have coached AAU and boys and girls high school around the area for a while, the game is constantly changing–faster than even the freshmen become seniors and the area turns over its considerable talent. So, any input those in the know can provide–fans, coaches, athletic directors, players, whoever–is most appreciated.
So help us out! If we make a mistake or you think we’re missing a great story let us know, and we’ll try to remedy our error or omission. Putting together the schedule for all the teams is especially challenging–often the websites of the schools have conflicting game time information. Help us to help you!
