Potomac Falls’ third-leading scorer, sophomore Ian Anderson, did not suit up Tuesday night against Tuscarora. It didn’t really matter, though, as the Panthers’ seniors took over. Brian Sweeney, David Walls and Christian Sweazie combined for 62 points as Potomac Falls won its tenth straight game, 85-47 over the Huskies.
Sweeney and Walls were particularly good in the first quarter when the Panthers took control and never looked back. Sweeney hit four of his five threes on the night and David Walls had ten points as the Panthers raced to a 14-4 lead and piled up 29 total points in the first quarter alone. After a 7-0 run to start the second quarter Potomac Falls led 36-13 and the game was decided.
Potomac Falls (7-1, 16-6) will be the #1 seed in next week’s 5A North Conference 14 tournament. Tuscarora (3-4, 12-9) will conclude its regular season Friday at home against Broad Run.
