The Girls Player of the Week sponsored by Evolution Basketball Training for January 24th to January 30th is forward McKenzie Matheny of West Springfield.
It was quite a week for the junior forward, as she helped lead West Springfield to four district victories and the Patriot District regular season crown. In two of them Matheny produced double-doubles, and her defense in the middle helped get the Spartans by 8-4 Robinson, a team known for its strong frontcourt, twice.
Matheny and talented teammate Lexi White were recently named Patriot District co-Players of the Year.
